At Complete Dental, we offer a wide range of implant services to restore your mouth to its original structure, appearance, and function.
A dental implant is a permanent solution to tooth loss. It involves placement of a decay-resistant titanium post into the jawbone, which actually fuses to the bone. This allows it to become a permanent fixture in your mouth.
After the mouth has properly healed, the implant is connected to a false crown, or abutment tooth. This tooth is created to match the exact shape, color, and size of your natural teeth, so no one will ever know that it is an implant.
Other Implant-Related Services
In addition to placement of the dental implants, there are other services that may be needed to prepare your mouth:
- Bone Grafting. Without a tooth to stimulate the bone, the jaw bone around a missing tooth will start to shrink and recede. Bone grafting will restore the lost bone so that there is enough to support an implant.
- Ridge Augmentation. When a tooth is removed, the height and width of a socket the tooth previously occupied will start to shrink. Ridge augmentation will restore the natural gum contour, and it can be used to prepare an area to receive an implant.
- Ridge Preservation. To prevent jaw bone recession after extraction, your dentist can perform a ridge preservation procedure. This will prevent socket recession and will stabilize the bone before your dental implants are put into place.
- Sinus Lift. If a tooth is lost, the resulting bone loss may cause the sinus cavity to move into the empty space that the bone used to occupy. A sinus lift will correct the issue by moving the sinus back away from the tooth roots before creating additional bone in the region.
